Estepona Half Marathon Next week, over 500 brave souls will take part in the Estepona Half Marathon. This 21km run starts in Cancelada and goes all the way along the Estepona promenade, along by the sea, finishing in the Estepona Athletics Stadium, the sporting heart of Estepona. Optometrist Carlos Partal from Specsavers Ópticas in Marbella will be taking part in this run to raise funds for the charity DiabetesCERO. In Spain there are over 1,000 people diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes every year, and most of those are under 15 years old. This is a growing problem, yet its cause is not known and there is no cure. The charity DiabetesCERO wants to change that by funding research projects in Spain to find the cure and Carlos hopes to raise €500 for this excellent cause by running the Estepona Half Marathon. Networking and Ambassador Scheme Launch The exciting new music festival FIESTA Marbella is bringing Pete Tong, Nancy Ajram and many more to Marbella this August. Bring Chido Home We're so saddened to hear of the sudden and tragic passing of Chido, who died of a respiratory arrest at just 27 years old. Chido was the partner of one of the amazing trainers at San Roque Rugby Club, who is now having to fund the repatriation of her body to her home in Zimbabwe, as well as grieve her loss. His fellow trainer Tommaso has set up a  GoFundMe page to help him and we do hope that people will support him to get her home. Our thoughts are with Mana and Chido's family at this very difficult time. Donate

Monte Mayor unveils new community hub On Sunday 7th of April, Monte Mayor residents were invited to the opening of their brand-new community hub, located in the old sales office at the entrance to the resort. Around 100 people attended the launch event and were delighted with the amenities now on their doorstep. The old sales office has been given a makeover and is now home to a small shop stocking the essentials and a lovely new bar and café, run by the experienced team from Nova Café. It is also home to Artemis Global’s Art Gallery, on the lower floor, featuring art from leading Dutch contemporary artists. It also has a satellite office for real estate agents Cloud Nine Spain, to support buyers and sellers of properties within the resort and raise the profile of Monte Mayor among the Costa del Sol’s agents and buyers. These are all open to the public and will form a hub for residents and tourists in the area. Find Out More

Festival of Nations Sotogrande International School is holding their very popular Festival of Nations again on Saturday 11th of May from 12-4pm. This amazing event celebrates the diversity and unity of the school community and allows parents and kids to share the food and traditions of their home countries. There are lots of stalls with delicious, homecooked food from all around the world, plus dancing and singing and a great atmosphere. This is a cash only event and wristbands must be purchased at the entry gate. Find Out More
