What are your top 5 books of all time?

What are your top 5 books of all time?

booksDifficult question isn’t it? Hannah Murray from Talk Radio Europe has asked me to come on to take part in her summer feature to discuss just that!

I’ve spent a few happy weeks thinking about my favourite books and looking through my bookcase to decide. I studied English Literature at University so I read a fair few books there, but because we had to read one or two books a week there are few that really stick in my mind. When I travelled on my own I read a huge amount too, but again this was a bit of a blur with all the things that were going on. Thinking about this interesting topic has allowed me to pick out those books that have surprised, amused, entertained and fascinated me over the years.

I’ve tried to choose a mix of classic and modern, funny and serious which will hopefully make for an interesting show.  Tomorrow at 2.30 you can tune in to Talk Radio Europe and see which ones I’ve chosen.  I hope you’ll listen!

If that’s got you thinking, please let me know what your Top 5 Books are by commenting on this post.

  • Yeah interesting question. Most of us can rattle off many book titles, but having to choose the Top 5… of all time… that’s hard.

I thought of mine – and here are the finalists (in no particular order)

    – The Little Prince – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
    – Joyful Wisdom: Embracing Change and Finding Freedom – Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and Eric Swanson
    – The Power of Now – Eckhart Tolle
    – Emotional Intelligence: Why it Can Matter More Than IQ – Daniel Goleman (and his brother “Social Intelligence”).
    – Open: An Autobiography – Andre Agassi

Phew – I had to try really hard not to involve work-related books…

Enjoy the show tomorrow – I’ll tune in :o)
