I completed the 30 Day Blogging Challenge, will you?

Today is Day 30 of Sarah Arrow’s fantastic 30 Day Blogging Challenge, so the perfect time to look back on the experience and share my favourite posts!

Firstly I must start by recommending the experience, for anyone who would like to start blogging, or reactivate a dormant blog, or one which just isn’t performing. It is a wonderful combination of advice (delivered each day in bite sized pieces), with support from others (Sarah and all the fellow participants) and the challenge to really push yourself to create a lot of content in a very short space of time. It’s seriously beneficial for your business and it’s free, so sign up for it today! 30 Day Blogging Challenge

I have been blogging for a long time, and as a copywriter and professional marketer I actually write blogs for other people. But I decided to take the challenge to bring my own blog up to scratch, check that what I was doing was right, learn some new things and be inspired for my marketing agency. It exceeded my expectations on all these points and surprised me because it broadened my content significantly. Because I was blogging every day and didn’t want it to be boring, I personalized it to include my own experiences and life lessons as well as simply business focused content. I had shied away from this before, thinking that people didn’t need to know about me to want to contract my services, but the fact is that people buy from people and my personal posts were by far the most popular ones! Over the month we’ve seen a 50% increase in  traffic to our site and some really great days with double the traffic compared to last month which I am delighted about.

The biggest lesson for me was to actively promote posts via other social media channels rather than sit back and wait for people to find me and get involved with discussions. I haven’t been able to dedicate enough time to applying all the great tips, so I will be going back over the posts to check I have applied everything correctly. My aim now is to continue the good work and keep going with a good mix of personal and business content, continue to post regularly (at least twice a week), start commenting on other blogs, improving my calls to action and work out how to convert the great response I got from the Mummy community from my kids’ focused posts, into business.

Here are my favourite posts over the last 30 days, I hope you like them too –
