Professional development and training in Marbella
I have always been a big believer in the importance of professional development and training, to help you to succeed. For SMEs this is particularly important, as we have to be a jack of all trades and wear many professional hats in order to thrive and be profitable.
Our Space not only provides office space and coworking, but also support for entrepreneurs and small businesses. A big part of this is training, with regular one hour training sessions being offered for free for their members and local businesses who want to learn. For the last few months, we’ve been promoting a packed schedule of events on topics ranging from marketing, to SEO, customer persona, business English, and how to be successful. A recent talk by Fiona Catchpowle on Facebook packed the place with over 30 delegates and we had 20 people come to my Marketing Planning workshop in May.
It’s not all about work however, as Our Space Marbella are committed to improving the work life balance and help people to be healthier and achieve more in all aspects of their life. They have regular coaching and productivity sessions and last month the coach and nutrition expert Monica Concellón came in to speak about nutrition and how eating the right foods can help you look and feel better, not to mention become more productive at work.
On day 4 of my hotdesking week, I was delighted to be at a training course about the correct posture to have while at work to reduce stress and reduce pain and tension by the Physiotherapist and Osteopath Dr. Carlos Sarmiento. He showed how to sit at the desk in the best way and had us all uncrossing our legs and focusing on the best level to sit compared to the desk to stop strain on the shoulders and neck. He also showed how to lie each night to help ease back pain and also how to use a golf ball to reduce pain and tension in your feet and back.
The next event to look forward to is tomorrow – Tuesday the 20th of July from 5-6pm all about Data and Trust with expert Dr Maxine Room CBE. This 1 hour workshop is a brief interactive introduction to data science and predictive analytics no matter what your business is and should be a very good one. It’s free to attend, but you do need to register on Eventbrite to reserve your place.
I am also looking forward to the Marbella’s International Women’s Network Showcase on the 22nd of June which brings together the main women’s networking groups on the coast, find out about the groups and build your contacts. Led by Costa Women and the ever-dynamic Ali Meehan, this is sure to be a great event so make sure you don’t miss it!
