Fear of public speaking is known as Glossophobia and it’s estimated that 75% of people suffer from it! After being the MC at the International Women’s Day event, I got so much feedback about how people wished they could be as confident as me on stage, that I realised that people were really crying out for help so have been writing some articles and preparing materials to give you guys a boost.
There are lots of things to think about when you’re public speaking. The slides, the way you speak and stand, how you handle the microphone and more, but sometimes trying to get all these things right actually makes you more scared and perform even worse. So we believe that there’s one thing to remember to get you over the fear itself, which is that it’s only talking!
We have just produced a handy little public speaking infographic to give you the basic tips and on 5th May we will be running a 3 hour Public Speaking Masterclass where we will talk you through the key points and then get to practice in a safe environment so you can grow in confidence and iron out any issues before going out there and knocking them dead! Read our public speaking blogs, come along to the workshop and become a great public speaker! |
