Monte Mayor unveils new facilities, open to residents and guests
On Sunday 7th of April, Monte Mayor residents were invited to the opening of their brand-new community hub, located in the old sales office at the entrance to the resort. Around 100 people attended the launch event and were delighted with the amenities now on their doorstep.
The old sales office has been given a makeover and is now home to a small shop stocking the essentials and a lovely new bar and café, run by the experienced team from Nova Café. It is also home to Artemis Global’s Art Gallery, on the lower floor, featuring art from leading Dutch contemporary artists; Ton Schulten, Jan Pater, Gert van Reenen and a resident artist Mila Pierce. It also has a satellite office for real estate agents Cloud Nine Spain, to support buyers and sellers of properties within the resort and raise the profile of Monte Mayor among the Costa del Sol’s agents and buyers.
Cloud Nine Spain’s CEO Sean Woolley is a resident of Monte Mayor and passionate about the charms of the area. As a resident and committee member, he felt that the area was lacking a shop and café within walking distance. With the empty sales office, he saw an opportunity to provide a convenient place for residents from Monte Mayor, as well as those in Marbella Club Hills and the surrounding area to meet and pick up essentials, without having to get in their car. He has created this, in collaboration with Nova Café, to become a community hub for the area and a way to really put Monte Mayor on the map, as a true 5* resort.
At the opening, Sean Woolley welcomed the residents and thanked them for their support, commenting that the opening of the centre is “a really fantastic addition to what we have here in Monte Mayor. It feels like the start of a new dawn, with these new amenities now in place. We have the shop, the café, the bar and kitchen, plus the art gallery and our sales office. This will really help us grow as a community and will also help Monte Mayor grow as a destination. One of my main focuses with having a sales office here is to start educating people along the coast, who might not be aware that we exist. There will be lots of events taking place over the coming months for the residents of Monte Mayor, residents living nearby, potential buyers and real estate agents. It will be a very exciting remainder of 2024.”
Sean encouraged the residents to use this as a hub and see this as their space to enjoy, meet people and bring their friends. There will be opportunities to watch the Olympics, football and more, with events being announced shortly.
The Nova Art Café and Nova Market at Monte Mayor is now open to the public. The café and bar will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with hours being extended in summer. The shop is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm. Cloud Nine Spain’s office will be open 9-6 Monday to Friday and by appointment over the weekend. They are located in Urb. Monte Mayor Alto, La Oficina de Ventas, 29679 Benahavis.
