Marbella Film Festival 2013
The Marbella Film Festival is here again, with five days of screenings taking place from Wednesday 2nd October until Sunday 6th October. This event is being split between the H10 Andalucía Plaza and Marbella’s Palacio de Congresos. The films are from around the world – documentaries, shorts and feature films and this is a great opportunity to see interesting and unusual world cinema.
We’ve received a press release about one documentary called Arribes: Everything Else is Noise which will be screened at the Palacio de Congresos Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 3:30pm (15:30h). It’s free to attend and sounds really interesting if you want to learn about the modern reality of small inland villages in Spain. The film portrays the bittersweet lives of the inhabitants of this isolated region of North West Spain, where sacrifice and hard work began at an early age, but where a simpler, basic life-style made room for a sense of community and happiness. https://vimeo.com/49137785 The documentary raises questions about our own way of living and values, and if changes in lifestyles, priorities and population structures are essential for a more sustainable future.
The sometimes funny, sometimes sad anecdotes are accompanied by details of everyday countryside life depicted with a sense of poetry and care, bringing into focus values often forgotten in a contemporary society with other priorities.
