Georgina recommends ….. The Beach House, Elviria
The Beach House is a beautiful restaurant right on the beach in Elviria which makes a really special place to have lunch or dinner. We’ve been here a number of times now for Valentine’s Day, Birthdays and special occasions and have never been disappointed by the food, atmosphere and service. Here’s my low-down of the place:
The location– The Beach House is tucked away on the beach front in Elviria. To find it, take the Don Carlos exit and follow the signs down to the sea, it’s down a lot of little roads but it’s well sign-posted and there’s parking out front. The restaurant and bar area are right on the sand with a lovely outdoor area when the weather’s good. However, this is a great place all year round as they can close everything in and it’s very cozy.
The food– The food in the Beach House is really delicious, elegant, well-presented but also packed with flavour. You can choose from the a la carte menu, a beach lounge menu and a Sunday lunch menu which is very popular. They are even doing a special set menu offer which is great value at 2 courses for 20€ and 3 courses for 25€, this is served Monday to Saturday for both lunch and dinner. The food is very fresh and seasonal and what they call “modern European”, but which I would call International as there’s quite a lot of Asian-fusion dishes on the menu. Starter range from Goat’s cheese salad to baby back ribs and scallops to beef carpaccio. Main courses include fish, meat and pasta so there’s something for everyone. Unlike other International restaurants I don’t find the range of foods confusing and everything I have tried from the menu is delicious.
The service – The team at The Beach House work really hard to make sure that your meal is a special experience and the service has always been excellent. They have a good ratio of staff to customers and you feel that there’s always someone on hand to help.
The decor/atmosphere – This restaurant manages the difficult task of making the restaurant refined yet also relaxed and capitalising on the beach side location. They also have live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday which adds to the atmosphere, but I must say I wouldn’t have been wanting to sit right by them!
The price – I am delighted to see that they are now offering this special set menu at such good prices as I always viewed the Beach House as a treat as it was expensive, but definitely worth the money. I’m certainly encouraged to give the set menu and go and see how it is. I would say that before the set menu was introduced it would cost around 40€-50€ per head with wine, depending on what you chose, so not outrageous, but still pricey.
Contact – They have a great website which shows you the full menu and some nice pictures of the place www.marbellabeachhouse.com, you can call 952 83 94 58 or email info@thebeachhousemarbella.com
