El Banco Aloha Pueblo Launch Event a great success
On the 11th of July a new restaurant opened its doors in Aloha Pueblo with a great launch party for local residents, friends and holiday makers. This restaurant has given a new lease of life to the urbanization’s old bank and created a much needed meeting place for Aloha residents from 9.30 in the morning to midnight. It serves delicious International Fusion cuisine in a relaxed environment with breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between, something which local residents commented has been missing from the Pueblo.
The restaurant has been opened by Gustavo Kiguelmam and Laura de Luca, the husband and wife team behind the legendary La Red restaurant on Marbella’s beachfront who bring their vast experience to this new enterprise. At the opening they launched the restaurant’s loyalty card which will reward regular customers with free glasses wine and even a meal worth 50€ if they return and get their card stamped.
Peruvian Chef Giacomo Muzio is working his culinary magic in the kitchen which was showcased at the opening with lovely skewers of prawn and octopus ceviche, succulent chicken with curry sauce, little spoons of quinoa salad and Aubergine Parmigiana, and lots of toasted corn and yuca to nibble on. The food is defined as “International, fusion cuisine, prepared fresh and made with love” and the menu includes delicious breakfasts, homemade pasta and puddings, ceviche, Asian dishes such as noodles and rices, healthy salads and thanks to the Argentinean owners – top quality meat.
The design team has done an amazing job and turned the old bank into an eclectic, vintage space with unusual features such as upholstered flip up train seats on one wall and original features such as the safes, cleverly repurposed into wine racks. It offers a fresh, modern yet welcoming environment with comfortable seating, a dining area and spacious terrace.
“After building up La Red for the last 10 years, we wanted to offer our clients something different, away from the beach, with great fusion food for a new community.”, commented Laura, “Given the current financial climate and attitude to the banking industry, turning a bank into a restaurant seemed the perfect cause for celebration – we’re hoping that with our bank we will be investing in good food and great times.”
