Christmas presents for the street children in Mallorca
The Allen Graham Charity 4 Kidz is pleased to have been associated with Specsavers since their first Mallorca branch opened earlier this year.
In collaboration with Planet Space, the Charity is currently having a collection to provide Christmas presents for the street children in Mallorca. Martin at Specsavers has kindly agreed to allow donations of toys (in good, clean condition) to be dropped off at the Santa Ponsa branch.
Christmas started last Sunday for the kids from the 27 Children’s homes on the island, they were transported to Puerto de Pollença for the Annual Children’s Party (now a well established Allen Graham Foundation event). Food and entertainment was laid on and Santa arrived with his huge sack of Christmas presents! For every child in the Children’s home, the Charity provides a gift of their choice, chosen from the El Corte Inglés catalogue (who then give a massive discount). In addition each child is also given an age and sex appropriate gift.
As well as support from Specsavers this year, the Foundation has been lucky to have support from the Pinmar yachtsman’s golf tournament, Sporting Fitness, The Santa Ponsa Country Club, and a generous donation of money from Eastenders and friends in Magalluf , a local dad, Ben Miles, did a 6,000 kilometre sponsored cycle ride and gave us a substantial donation. This is just to mention but a few.
In the New Year, following a fantastic offer from Martin, it is hoped that six older children that the Charity has supported since they left Children’s homes, will be having free eye tests. Thank you Martin and Specsavers!
