A Taste of the Amalfi Coast at the Marbella Club

On Friday 24th and Saturday 25th February the chefs from Italy’s Santa Caterina Hotel will be presenting a special Italian Menu at The Grill in the Marbella Club Hotel. The evening will begin in the new Champagne Room with a Bellini cocktail and canapés. During the meal, there will be entertainment from International Tenor Stephen Lloyd Morgan, performing popular Italian Arias so diners can experience the tastes and sounds of Italy.

The Santa Caterina Hotel is famous for its stunning views, amazing location and its fine Italian food. For just two nights, Head Chef Domenico Cuomo will be bringing his award-winning cuisine to Marbella. This special menu represents the best from the Campania region and will be a slice of the Amalfi Coast for diners to enjoy.

Eva Recommends… Santorini, Benavista

I have been to this restaurant a few times now and each time is just as good as the last if not better. It seems every time I try something new off the menu, I am very impressed all over again. It’s clear the owners have a great long term vision for the place and are not letting the quiet winter and recession lower their standards for a second. This restaurant is great for a quick bite to eat or a 3-course meal and offers a great range of food plus a children’s menu. Did I mention they have a fantastic take away menu?

Marbella is… El Rodeito

Few establishments in Marbella can boast such a long & colourful history that dates back to the 1950s, an era when Marbella was a sleepy fishing village and Puerto Banús was being built.   But the restaurant El Rodeito has stood the test of time and...

Georgina Recommends – Amrita Restaurant, Shanti Som

A few weeks ago I discovered the gorgeous Amrita Restaurant at the Wellbeing Retreat Shanti Som, up the road from La Cañada. Although the retreat is only 20 minutes from central Marbella it feels a world away and is a beautiful place to take some time torelax, unwind and enjoy a delicious, but healthy meal.

In the review in The Independent in July, journalist Jane Anderson called the food at Amrita “top-notch” and commented “If there was ever proof that healthy food can taste wonderful, it’s in [Amrita’s] Asian-Med fusion menus.” I couldn’t agree more and it’s open 7 days a week for lunch, so everyone can go and give it a try.

Here’s my review of Amrita Restaurant.

Eva Recommends….La Red, Marbella

This is now one of my all time favourite restaurants in Marbella! You will find this lovely restaurant right on the beach in the exclusive area of Playa de La Fontanilla, Marbella town. With room for 120 diners, La Red is a great choice for families, groups and couples. With their own private beach and sun loungers, guests can relax and soak up the rays before stepping into the open air restaurant for some very tasty dishes.

Georgina recommends ….. Tanguito, Marbella Old Town

This little Argentinian restaurant is a great place tucked away in Marbella Old Town. It’s a good choice for steak and also if you’re looking for somewhere to both eat and have a few drinks as there’s a fun bar underneath as well. Here’s our review:

The location – As with most places in Marbella Old Town this can be a bit difficult to find. The best way to get your bearings is to come in to the Old Town by the road opposite where the horses and carts are and turn right at La Pesquera, heading towards Orange Square and take the first left up a little side street. It’s towards the end of this road on the left hand side. Click here to see it on Google maps.

The food – The food is great for carnivores with excellent quality steaks and delicious mixed kebabs. They also have a good selection of other dishes, but for me it’s a place to go to get your meat fix. The wine list is good too.

Winners announced for Huerto Soft Launch competition

Eva Recommends…. Peggotty’s Fish & Grill

This restaurant and takeaway is now my favourite place to go for fish & chips with friends or family. Seating around 80 people, it also has a lovely outside seating area for those warm summer evenings. There are two sister restaurants in the Marbella area, my friends and I visited the one in Benavista. Family run, and known as the celebs choice for fish & chips, it’s fair to say we had pretty high expectations…
