Starlite Festival is coming to Marbella again from the 23rd July to the 24th August. Located in the new auditorium La Cantera Nagueles, visitors to last year’s events were really impressed by the venue, the performances and the atmosphere.

Following five previous hugely successful events in Estepona, The Over 50s Show, the lifestyle event for the Coast’s seniors, is coming to one of the most popular and best situated venues on the Coast – the Hippodrome, Mijas.
The Hippodrome is the home of the only racecourse on the Costa del Sol, as well as boasting incomparable features and services for social events such as The Over 50s Show. Arte Marbella reaches its landmark 5th Edition in June 2013. One of the most popular and dynamic cultural events in Marbella, it is a brilliant display of diverse artistic talent. Having represented more than 300 artists since launching in 2009, the 5th Festival Internacional de Arte Marbella is a complete cultural experience, free to the public, and represents the largest outdoor art festival in Southern Spain.

New this year is the creation of a Sculpture Garden in the Alameda, along with a demonstration of Graffiti Art in the same area. The Festival is held in the Alameda and Avenida del Mar from 16.30 to 23.30 hours, bringing the centre of Marbella to life with individual and group tents to delight art lovers.

Hosted by Bond’s seventh incarnation, Mark Edmundson, the charity evening, taking place on Thursday 4th April, will mix all the style, glamour and sophistication that is 007 with a cocktail and canapé reception. Following the ‘Nick Nacks’ there’ll be a sumptuous three course meal, spell-binding live entertainment, a DJ, and a contemporary art auction, hosted by Giles Brown, in conjunction with Thomas Crown Art, with proceeds going to Mijas Costa-based animal shelter, PAD.

It may seem hard to believe as the rain comes down but the Marbella Beach Clubs are getting ready for action once again. The first one to brave the inclement weather is Puro Beach. They have their Spring Opening Party tonight and then on 28th March their opening day with music from DJ Jan Blomqvist from 11am to 9pm. Let’s hope the sun comes out for them!
In April and May the rest of the Beach Clubs follow suit, with many having a soft launch, followed by the bigger party later in the summer. Information is still a bit sketchy, but below we’ve put together the opening parties for the leading Marbella Beach Clubs, please let us know if there are any we’ve missed.
I can’t wait for the Summer season to get underway, let’s hope that the opening of Puro Beach kick starts the weather and we get back the sun!
