Opportunity to take a stand at the Children’s Fayre in Calahonda

Marleen Gosselin from “The Black Cat” and Eurosur Calahonda is organising the Calahonda Children’s Fayre and looking for businesses to promote themselves by having a stand. This is an excellent way to give something back to the local community as well as promoting your business. We were there volunteering last year and it was a great event with a large number of people attending and raising money for charity. It’s taking place on Sunday 15th May from 11am to 6pm at the Petanca Park in Calahonda and the prices are very reasonable, starting at 20€ and going up to 50€ for a stand.

Costa Directory do their bit to help Japan

It's great to see local businesses pulling together to help important causes. In this month's Costa Directory newsletter they are publicising the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal and even better, they are donating 10 euro to the Red Cross for every advert that is sold in their...

Shaw Marketing Services supports MLGA

As part of our commitment to supporting local charities, we’re helping Marbella Ladies Golfing Association launch their fundraising drive for 2011 by promoting their plans to the local press and the golfing press in the UK.

We’re getting excellent support from the local media and we’ll be discussing it on Talk Radio Europe tomorrow at 1pm. So far, The News Newspaper and Essential Magazine have agreed to run the press release and websites In Malaga Today and Marbella Family Fun have also picked up the story so it’s a great start.

We hope this press coverage will attract more members to the organisation, interest businesses in sponsoring their events and generally kick-start their fundraising efforts. Together, we’ll be working towards their ambitious target of raising 8,000€ for Cudeca and Ciudad de los Niños over the coming year.

ADANA need your help!

ADANA is a lovely little charity which runs a shelter for dogs in the hills near to Estepona. It has seen a massive increase in abandoned dogs, as the economic crisis sees more people leave Spain and leaves those who remain with less money to care properly for their animals. Their shelter is currently caring for 150 abandoned dogs, which is pushing their limited funds and space to breaking point and they really need our help!

Steve Hall completes his amazing journey and plans the next trip

A huge congratulations to Steve Hall for completing his marathon trip to visit all 92 league grounds in England and Wales, which took 127 days in the saddle. He finished at the famous Upton Park home of West Ham United and was greeted by lots of press to promote his message to not forget the refugees of this world.

Despite all the trials and tribulations of his trip, including a serious accident, Steve has really fallen for “the sport, hobby, method of transport, insanity or however you consider cycling” and he’s now planning for the next series of adventures.

Upcoming charity events

There are three events being held in September to raise money for great causes that I wanted to share with you. The first is being held this Sunday at the El Paraiso Country Club in aid of Manacare, the charity which is creating a community in...

Why do you have to be rich to support charity in Marbella?

This time of year I receive loads of invitations to attend charity galas in aid of one charity or another set in a stunning location with gourmet food and great entertainment.

Now as you know I am a big supporter of charities and I also like a good night out, so I’d really like to attend these kinds of events. However…. when you look at the price it’s well out of reach of us mere mortals!
