We’re committed to supporting charities, community projects and non-profits through offering our PR and marketing services free of charge where we can to support fundraising.

One of our clients, Maiteland Wood from Bel Allure, shared the story of their family’s struggle to enable her son Josh Wood to achieve his dream and we were inspired to offer them a helping hand. Shaw Marketing Services is planning and promoting the fundraising campaign to raise the €100,000 needed to allow him to race in the JuniorGP Championships this year, as well as managing his social media channels.

Josh’s Story

Josh Wood from Fuengirola, Malaga, may only be 16 years old, but he’s dreaming big and hopes one day to be the World MotoGP Champion. He only started racing last year, and has been working very hard, with very limited resources, to develop and grow into a potential future champion. In 2025, he wants to take the next big step towards his goal by racing in the JuniorGP Championships, but he needs help to make this dream a reality and has launched a fundraising campaign ahead of the first race in May.

Racing motorbikes is seriously expensive and very difficult to get into without support. Josh Wood and his Mum Maiteland have started this journey alone, with no funding, sponsorship or motor racing pedigree behind them and it’s been a real struggle to get this far. Despite this, he’s already showing promise, being accepted into the SPN Academy, racing in Resistance races around Spain and being one of only 120 riders around the world to be invited to try out for the Red Bull Rookies.

Taking the next step into entering the JuniorGP Championships requires a minimum investment of €100,000, something that is impossible for them to achieve alone. But they are so passionate about the dream of racing professionally, that they have launched a fundraising campaign and welcoming donations from anyone who feels they would like to help a young man from the Costa del Sol achieve his full potential.

Josh explains, “Motorbike racing is something that I am so passionate about and I always want to do. I live, breathe and pretty much only think about racing! Through hard work, persistence, blood, sweat and tears I have progressed to the point where I can race in the JuniorGP Championships.

I am driven to succeed, but to take this next step takes funds which we just don’t have. It costs a lot of money for gear like the race suits, boots, helmets, bikes, parts, the mechanic, coach, track time to train, tyres, petrol, travel and accommodation at the race weekends – the list goes on.

If I can raise the funds to take part in the JuniorGP Championships I will gain a lot of experience and exposure, as well as race against top riders and gain a lot knowledge. I will also be able to get the feeling of racing in a high-pressure situation.

I have already achieved a lot coming into the sport so late and I have so much more to give. I think that being one of the few riders in the world to be selected to try out for the Red Bull Rookies shows that I do have the potential to succeed and go far in the sport. But I know that if I want to continue to progress then I need to gain more experience and the best way to do that is through training at some of the bigger tracks and racing in a competitive environment. Only with support from donors, supporters and sponsors will I be able to make this happen and I really hope that people will get behind me.”

Josh’s Mum Maiteland Wood adds, “I support him 100% and I am willing to and always do make sacrifices, so that he can do what he loves. I do this because as a Mum, there is nothing that can top the feeling of seeing your child elated and full of life doing something that they are so passionate about. I want Josh to chase his dreams and believe that he can achieve whatever he sets his mind to. I want him to never see limits, only challenges that always have solutions. However, we have to be realistic and say that as a single Mum, running my own business, there’s just no way to personally fund this race season, so we’re calling out to all the generous people on the Costa del Sol and beyond who want to enable him to chase his dreams. We would be so grateful for donations from individuals or businesses who would be willing to sponsor Josh’s journey.”

Donations can be made via Josh’s Go Fund Me page and businesses interested in sponsoring should email Joshua36Wood@gmail.com to find out more. You can also follow his journey and show your support by following him on social media – @JoshWood36 on Facebook and @josh.wood36 on Instagram.
